Moore Ranch

Moore Ranch
Russian River Valley

Sebastopol

Sebastopol is my favorite area for Pinot, so I feel lucky to get fruit from vineyards on both sides of Sebastopol. Moore Ranch produces a wine that has red and dark fruits with spice, but it also has a minerality to it. Does the minerality come from the rocky subsoil? I believe so, indirectly at least. The proximity to the Petaluma Gap and its cooling afternoon winds is a help as well. Jim and Cindy Moore, who own and farm it , are constantly refining the care of the vineyard to bring out the best in the fruit.

Nash Mill

Nash Mill Vineyard
Anderson Valley

Between Philo & Navarro

Shale and Pinot Noir. One of the wonders of Pinot is how it reflects the soil it's grown on. Shale gives Pinot a wonderful savory quality that can't be replicated. Owned and farmed by Zac Robinson, Nash Mill has been certified for Fish Friendly Farming to help preserve the health of the streams in the area. Fish Friendly Farming is very similar to Organic Farming but with a extra focus on the needs of Fish (erosion for example).

Pratt Vineyard

Pratt Vineyard
Sonoma Coast

Between Sebastopol & Occidental

Mmmm....Pinot Noir from Goldridge soil. Goldridge brings out a complex floral and red fruit character with subtle spices in the wine. Earthy and mushroom character develops with a bit of time in the bottle. Cool air from the coast allows for a long hang time while preserving the acidity necessary for a balanced wine. Owned and farmed by Jim Pratt, Jim is responsible for many other top Pinot vineyards in the area, including Falstaff Road Vineyard and Reuling Vineyard.
